Last Minute Summer Road Trips: Texas Edition

Hey Y'all!

Summer will be coming to an end soon and I'm so not ready for it. If you're looking for a few things to do before fall hits, I've put together a list of last minute road trips to take. Each destination is linked for y'all to get a bit more information on these places. 

1.) New Braunfels, TX

If you're looking for a fun getaway for the weekend, you should take a trip to this Texas river town. New Braunfels has a few different rivers to float that are fun and great for the whole family or a group of friends. The downtown area is also super cute and quaint. This town is also located within an hour of Austin, San Marcos and San Antonio too!

2.) Amarillo, TX

This city is located in the Panhandle of Texas. Amarillo is home to Cadillac Ranch, a field with old graffiti painted Cadillacs. Visitors can also take a tour on the historic Route 66 District. Take a hike through Palo Duro Canyon, the second largest canyon in the U.S. It is absolutely beautiful! Amarillo is also known to the world famous Big Texan Steak Ranch.

3.) Galveston, TX

Galveston Island is just a little over an hour south of Houston. There are plenty of fun things to do at this Gulf Coast spot. Ride a few rides and eat yummy food at Pleasure Pier or a spend a few hours on the beach. Galveston is also home to Moody Gardens, three pyramids made to explore. 

4.) Corpus Christi, TX

This is another fun Gulf Coast city that is perfect for a weekend trip. There are so many unique things to do here. Take a tour of the famous USS Lexington Naval Ship that played a part in WWII. You can also grab a bite to eat at the two story Whataburger on the bay or visit the beautiful Texas State Aquarium.
